Finally I bought a 6 holes muffin pan from Bake With Me (RM12) and muffin paper cup (RM2.50) in Lintas. They run out of small packing of chocolate chip. So, I bought chocolate button and chop it up to become smaller bits. There are many recipes of how to make, and the proportion of ingredients vary. I don't know why. Below is my modified copy and it turned out alright.
225g plain flour
100g castor sugar
3 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
190g milk
60g sunflower oil
1egg
100g chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
- Preheat oven to 200 deg C.
- Lightly beat the egg, mix with milk, oil and vanilla essence.
- Sieve flour and baking powder into a bowl, add in sugar and chocolate chips and mix well.
- Pour in the wet ingredients into dry ingredients at one go.
- Mix with no more than 10 strokes.
- Spoon batter into 6 muffin cup about 2/3 full.
- Bake until the cake crack at the top and golden colour. It took me 30min.
I forgot to take a picture of the muffins I made. Believe me, they looked better than most of the pictures in the recipes I browsed. They were soft, and with more flour, I supposed they would be heavier, and more like those sold in the cake house.
